Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology has declared the result of the ANM and GNM Entrance exam 2013 held on 11^th of August 2013

And result of the BSc, MSc and Post Basic nursing course admission entrance exam held on 10^th August 2013 has also been declared

25 seats of 2 years MSc Nursing

40 seats of 2 year post basic BSc Nursing

100 seats of 4 year basic BSc Nursing

45 seats of 3 and half year course General Nursing Midwifery (GNM)

50% seats will be filled through the entrance exam.

Application form and information brochure will be available from 15^th April to 25^th of June, 2013 from Ramesh Book Depot, Dehradun and other book depots in major cities. Or it can be had from Service centers of HIHT University at above address near Doiwala or Delhi office (NIL 24A, Malviya Nagar) by paying cash or Demand Draft of INR 400.

Or through post by paying DD of INR 450 drawn in favor of “HIHT University” payable at State Bank of India, Jolly Grant (branch code-10580)

Last date of submission of the form: 25^th of June, 2013

G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar District- Udham Singh Nagar is going to conduct the entrance exam for the medical courses of Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM) and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) running in the institutes and colleges of Uttarakhand.

Note: Candidates must be domicile of Uttarakhand (even if the candidate has passed the minimum qualification from any board i.e. CBSE/ICSE, Uttarakhand board or any other recognized outer state board)

Age limit: 17-35years as on 31^st of December, 2012

Minimum qualification or eligibility criteria:

ANM- minimum 12^th Pass

GNM- minimum 12^th Pass (Science stream) with 40% marks

Note- According to new rule by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi

1- Now inter pass from any stream can apply for GNM.

2- There have been some changes in the course structure of ANM and duration of the ANM course will be of 2 year as against 18 months.

Application form and information brochure will be available from 1^st of May to 2^nd June (earlier it was of 19^th of May 2012) from designated post offices of major cities of Uttarakhand.

Dehradun, Almora, Bageshwar, Gopeshwar, Joshimath, Rudraprayag, Haridwar, Nainital, Pantnagar, Kashipur, Haldwani, Pauri, Kotdwar, Srinagar (Pauri Garhwal), Pithoragarh, Champawat, New Tehri, Uttarakashi, Ranikhet, Karanprayag

Application Fees: GEN/OBC Candidates- Rs. 640, for SC/ST Candidates-Rs.340.

Last date of submission of the form: 6^th June (earlier it was 23^rd May, 2012) through registered/speed post/By hand

Date of Entrance Exam: 15^th July (earlier it was 24^th June, 2012)

Now first counseling held on 29^th and 30^th October is over and second counseling will be conducted on two dates:

Time: 8am to 3pm – registration and verification of all categories and then after 3pm there will be seat allotment (on both days)

If you are looking for job oriented courses that can give you maximum chances of getting a job after 10^th or 12^th, ANM and GNM courses are also good job-oriented and off-the trend courses among others specially if you look upon the reasonable fees structure and the ample jobs opportunities that would be available after doing these courses in government sector and private sector.

Both A.N.M (Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery), G.N.M (General Nursing and Midwifery) are professional courses are part of medical streams. Knowledge of some medical line is always a plus for entire life and also open door for some private work

 Rather than going for plain B.Com., B.Sc. B.A. etc. and other traditional courses and then thinking what to do after, perhaps, wasting 3 or more valuable career making years and hard earned parent’s money. Such job oriented and somewhat unique courses are good options for the youth.

Uttarakhand Government is inviting application for government recognized ANM and GNM course. (See below)

Both of the above courses are associated with nursing profession of medical stream. Both science and arts stream student can apply for the courses. Minimum criteria required for the courses may vary for private institutions.

But generally these are as follow:-

A.N.M (Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery) - for females

Minimum.Qualification:-12th pass (new rule)                

Age Limit:-15 to 35 years.                      

Course Duration: - 2 years 

G.N.M (General Nursing and Midwifery) - for male and female both

Minimum qualification:-10+2 with minimum 40%  (any subject)     

Age limit:-17 to 35   years              

Course duration: -         3 and 1/2 years
