Candidate need to be the resident of Uttarakhand and registered in the employment exchange before the date of application.

Minimum educational qualification:

Graduate/Post Graduate with minimum 6 month computer diploma.

Note- as per the advertisement the diploma should be from an organization or institute that must be registered with the central/state government. And MCA, BCA, PGDCA, DOEACC (O, A and B level) are not required to have the 6 month diploma.

Selection Procedure: There will be objective type of test (0.25 Negative Marking)

The selected candidates will be given two year non stipend training at the Pashudhan Prasar Adhikari training center at Pashulok Rishikesh. And then they will be placed in the job.

Undergraduate (B.Sc. Ag., B.Sc. Food Technology, B.V.Sc. A.H., B.F.Sc., B.Sc. Home Science)

Masters’ programmes including MCA (except M Tech) and

Ph.D. programmes for the residents of Uttarakhand.

M.Tech. admission will be based on GATE scores and the entrance exam conducted by ICAR and BTech marks.

Candidates from the other states can apply for the MCA and PhD programmes only.

Kashmiri migrants and J&K residents may also apply for undergraduate courses only.

Date and time of exam:

Ph.D. and masters’- 1st June, 2013 from 10 am to 1 pm

MCA- 1st June 2013 from 3 pm to 6pm

So after much push and pull (which is still going on) the result of the Gram Vikas Adhikari or Village Development Officer (VDO) recruitment exam 2012 in Uttarakhand is said to be out (according to one newspaper). The official site is now showing the result. There has been much drama went into the declaration of the result. What is really going on inside the government machinery may be known to the high and mighty ones.

One report said that the result was prepared by Govind Ballabh Pant University way back but later after a so called meeting of the officials it was decided that Panchayati Raj Vibhag Uttarakhand will declare the result.

Why to make simple things so complex? Just let the GBPAUT upload the result and let every one see. Why the drama of giving result to this and that then declare it by someone else after deciding it in meetings and so on.

Not to mention that all may not be well inside that is why this drama happened.

Anyway the post has been increased to 807 from the earlier declared posts of 771.

Total candidates appeared in the VDO Exam 2012 were 133461.
